Landnáma (The Book of Settlements)

Landnáma  (The Book of Settlements), believed to have been composed by Ari Þorgilsson (1067-11480), is along with The Book of Icelanders the oldest document about the settlement of Iceland. The date of the settlement of Iceland, 874, originates in Landnáma, although historical reliability of the manuscript is disputed.

The original version of Landnáma is lost, but replicas from 13th, 14th and 17th century still exist.
