The Ice Pick

Ísnálin

The Ice Pick (Ísöxin) is awarded to the author and translator of the best crime novel translated to Icelandic each year. The award is given by Iceland Noir – The International Crime Fiction Festival, The Icelandic Association of Translators and Interpreters, and The Icelandic Crime Society. Nominations are announced on Raymond Chandler‘s birthday, July 23rd. Chandler introduced the ice pick as a murder weapon in the crime story The Little Sister (1949).
