Reykjavík UNESCO City of Literature supports new projects and initiatives in the literary field in Reykjavík. Artists, grassroots publishers, collectives and associations can seek cooperation with and support from the City of Literature, in order to put ideas in the literary field into action. These can be public events, workshops, educational projects or other initiatives in this field. This is not a publication grant and thus publications are not supported unless linked with projects or festivals the Reykjavík City of Literature is a direct organizer of.
Application deadlines 2022
Applications are received twice a year. In 2022, the former deadline is Monday, February 28th and the second deadline this year is Monday, May 30th. Applicants will receive a reply in approximately one month after the deadline.
Applications should include a clear description of the project, a budget plan and time schedule. If the project is supported, the cooperation with the Reykjavík City of Literature should be mentioned in all PR material and a report is handed in when the project has been realized. The City of Literature also takes part in dissmeninating the project on its website as social media channels.
The maximun support for a single project is 400.000 ISK.
