Gröndal‘s House – A Writer’s Home in the Heart of the Old Town
Gröndalshús is the charming former home of writer, illustrator and scholar Benedikt Gröndal (1826-1907). This house in the heart of the old town in Reykjavík has now been renovated and opened as a cultural house and residency, run by the Reykjavík City of Literature.
The ground floor houses a residency flat for visiting writers and scholars, the main floor an exhibition about Bendikt Gröndal and a small event space, and the top floor workspaces for local writers and scholars.
The exhibition is open in the summer months, from Thursday - Sundays from 1 pm - 5 pm in June, July and August.
