Nokkrir dagar í október - A Few Days in October
Vetur - Winter

Winter

All the way here
through the open window
I hear the plaintive song
of the swans

through the darkness
and the quiet snowfall

as though a wing
were scraping
an ice-covered lake

Vetur

Alla leið hingað
inn um opinn gluggann
heyrist sárt kvakið
í álftunum

gegnum myrkrið
og hljóða snædrífuna

eins og vængur
sé dreginn eftir
ísi lagðri tjörn
